Learning Area and Perimeter together.

Content Descriptors: Students are able to choose appropriate units of measurement for length, area, volume, capacity and mass (ACMMG108).
Students are able to calculate the perimeter and area of rectangles using familiar metric units.(ACMMG109), (ACARA,2015)

Using prior learning from year 4 we are going to extend on our previous work with Area and introduce ourselves to Perimeter, to finish this quest you will need to have ready your problem solving skills, we will be talking about measurement using mathematical language, we will also be comparing the size of objects as well as incorporating some challenging games, listening to some groovy maths music and creating some special pieces of mathemtical art.
As with anything in our learning environment, if you feel at anytime you are stuck, please discuss this with me. Other members of our learning community maybe feeling the same way, this is a grerat opportunity for us all to learn together.
